CentaCare Evolve Housing, CatholicCare Tasmania, and St Joseph’s Affordable Homes put our faith in action with social and affordable housing projects. Through the provision and construction of these types of properties, we’re helping build strong, sustainable communities in Tasmania.

Our Catholic belief that everyone has the right to a stable, secure home is what drives our organisations to make a difference in communities. Together, we put more roofs over families’ heads, offer community support, and provide employment opportunities for young Tasmanians.

BUILDING UP HOMES & COMMUNITIES

CentaCare Evolve Housing manages over 2,500 social and affordable properties in Tasmania, and are on track to build over 500 additional properties over the next few years alongside St Joseph Affordable Homes. It’s our mission that these homes reduce homelessness in Tasmania and promote equal opportunity.

Our work doesn’t stop at just building and managing properties. We also work closely with CatholicCare to look after the wellbeing of Tasmanian families. Through these support services, we’re not only building homes but also building up entire communities.

BUILDING SKILLS FOR YOUNG TASMANIANS

Through the Build Up Tassie program, St Joseph Affordable Homes provides both apprenticeships and employment to young Tasmanians to increase the number of life-ready, skill-ready, and work-ready young people in our community.

In the program, young apprentices will help build over 100 social and affordable homes per year while receiving individual coaching, developing the attitudes and personal habits to be ready for work, and learning new skills on the job.
